Walking the Paths of Mercy and Truth

Psalm 25:10 says, “All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.” This verse tells us that every path the Lord forges is characterized by mercy and truth. Notice the wording: “are,” not “is” or “was.” This signifies that mercy and truth are always present in God’s ways, regardless of time or situation.

Some might wonder how to find this path. The answer is in the same verse: by keeping His covenant and testimonies. But this might seem impossible. After all, there are 613 laws or commands in the Bible. No one can keep all of these perfectly.

Psalm 25:14 provides the key: “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.” It’s through the fear of the Lord and a humble heart that we find Christ. He is the fulfillment of the law.

Christ fulfilled every prophecy—over 300 prophecies about the Messiah—and followed every law in the Bible to the letter. He became our Passover lamb, the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He accomplished what we could never do on our own.

Walking the paths of the Lord means living in His mercy and truth. It means recognizing our inability to keep the law perfectly and turning to Christ, who has already fulfilled it for us. By fearing the Lord and humbling our hearts, we can find the path forged by His mercy and truth, leading us to eternal life in Christ.
