Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.”
In ancient times, people used balance scales to weigh goods. Just like today when we buy 5 pounds of apples at the grocery store, back then, merchants would use weights to measure out goods. Honest merchants would use accurate weights, but dishonest ones would cheat their customers with false weights that would short change their customers.
God hates dishonesty in our dealings with others. He wants us to be fair and just. When we go about our day, whether at work or in life, we should strive to be honest and fair in everything we do. This pleases God, and blessings flow from this behavior.
We should always aim to over-deliver and avoid under-delivering. Our goal should be to act with honesty and uprightness in all our dealings. By doing so, we honor God and live in a way that brings joy to Him.
