In Daniel chapter 2, King Nebuchadnezzar had a troubling dream and demanded an interpretation. There was just one problem. He would not tell anyone what the dream was. He ordered his wise men to describe the dream and its meaning, and if they failed, they would be killed. This was not an empty threat. The king’s command went out quickly, and Daniel and his friends were in danger along with the rest of the wise men.
Daniel did not panic or argue. He did not rush to defend himself before the king. Instead, he went home and told Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah what had happened. Together, they prayed and asked God to show them mercy and reveal the secret so their lives would be spared. That night, God answered their prayer and gave Daniel both the dream and its meaning.
This moment is a strong reminder of what to do when life turns upside down. Before we run to people, plans, or panic, we need to run to God. Daniel’s first step was not to scheme his way out but to bow his head in prayer. He trusted that God had the answer, and God proved faithful. When trouble knocks, the best thing you can do is pray first.
