Seek Ye First

Luke 12:29-31 “And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Life’s hustle often makes us forget our purpose. We wake, work, eat, and repeat. But we’re not just here to fill space; we’re here for a reason.

Jesus showed us that our basic needs—what we eat, drink, or wear—are common concerns across humanity. Yet, God is aware we need these things.

Therefore, instead of worrying, we’re encouraged to prioritize God and His righteousness. By doing so, our needs will be met.

Worrying is like trying to carry today’s and tomorrow’s burdens at once, which only drains today’s strength. It’s better to let God take over today’s worries while we focus on Him and His desires for us.

Forgetting this priority means losing sight of our true purpose. We are meant to glorify God. Recognizing this helps us understand how everything in life aligns.
