If you have ever been job hunting, you understand what benefit packages are. Employers often offer a range of benefits to attract and retain employees. These might include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, bonuses, and other perks like gym memberships or tuition assistance.
Now, imagine a benefit package from God. Psalm 68:19 says, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.” Every single day, God loads us with benefits. He piles them on, more than we can imagine.
Consider the simple, everyday blessings we often take for granted. If you are reading this, you are breathing, your heart is pumping, your eyes are working, and your brain is processing. All this happens without us even thinking about it. How? God has loaded you with benefits. These are just the physical ones.
But it gets far better than just the benefits of life. God offers us eternal life! He promises us a place in heaven. The Bible describes heaven as a place of unimaginable beauty and joy. Revelation 21:4 says, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
In heaven, there are streets of gold, gates of pearl, and walls of precious stones (Revelation 21:18-21). It is a place where we will be in the presence of God forever, where there is no need for the sun or moon because the glory of God will light it (Revelation 21:23). There will be no more night, and we will reign with Him forever and ever (Revelation 22:5).
So, next time you feel down, remember God’s benefit package. It’s not just about the here and now; it’s about eternity. Every day, God loads us with His blessings, both in this life and the next.
