Isaiah 43:1 says, “But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.”
There are four things God says He has done for Israel and he’s done the same for us!
1. He Created You
This points to the very beginning. Before there was a plan for your life, there was a God who made you. He spoke the world into being, and you were part of that design. You didn’t show up by accident.
2. He Formed You
There is a difference between creating and forming. Creation speaks of God bringing something from nothing. Forming speaks of God shaping what He made. It’s the careful work of hands that take what He started and mold it into what He intended. Your life isn’t random shaping. It’s the work of a God who sees the details.
3. He Redeemed You
Redeemed means you were bought back. It reminds us that sin separated us from Him, but He paid the price to bring us back through the shed blood of His Son. He didn’t send someone else to handle it. He stepped in Himself.
4. He Called You
God didn’t stop at making and saving you. He called you by name. That means He knows you personally and has claimed you as His own. When He calls, it’s not a general call into the air. It’s Him saying, “I know you, and I have a plan for your life.”
This one verse covers the beginning of life, the shaping of it, the rescue from sin, and the personal call from God Himself. It’s a reminder that your life is not overlooked or forgotten. It has His fingerprints all over it.
