What Money Can’t Buy

A lot of people think that if they had more money, all their problems would go away.

Psalm 49 sets that lie straight.

God doesn’t care how much you’ve got in your bank account.

Truth is, there’s some things in life (and after life) that money can’t touch.

Here are three of them from Psalm 49:

1. Money Can’t Buy Immortality

Psalm 49:7-9 says nobody can give to God a ransom for their soul.

Death is coming for everybody, rich or poor.

Doesn’t matter if you live in a mansion or on the streets, your body’s still headed for the grave.

You can pay for a nicer casket, but you can’t buy your way out of it.

Hebrews 9:27 backs that up plain and simple: “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

You can’t pay off God. You can’t skip the appointment. It’s on the calendar whether you like it or not.

We should live like today is our last.

2. Money Can’t Buy Wisdom

Psalm 49:20 says that a man who is in honor and doesn’t understand is like a beast that perishes.

Think about that. You can be rich, famous, and still die like a dumb animal if you don’t have real understanding.

Wisdom isn’t for sale.

James 1:5 says if you want it, ask God. He gives it out freely.

So the richest people in the world might be the poorest when it comes to what matters. You want wisdom? It comes from fearing the Lord, not from owning a bunch of stuff.

3. Money Can’t Buy Heaven

Psalm 49:15 gives us hope though. It says, “God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me.”

That’s not something you can swipe a card for. That’s God’s mercy.

Ephesians 2:8-9 spells it out: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

You don’t earn Heaven. You don’t buy Heaven. You trust Jesus and receive it.

At the end of the day, your money won’t follow you to the grave, but your choices will.

Don’t spend your whole life chasing something that can’t help you when it counts most. Invest in what lasts.

Your soul matters more than your salary.

You want peace? You want purpose? You want Heaven? It isn’t for sale. But thank God, it’s already paid for.
