Luke 24:27 “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.”
John 5:39 “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
The Bible has one main subject, and that subject is Jesus Christ. From beginning to end, every person, office, and event points to Him. What the Old Testament showed in shadows, the New Testament reveals in His person.
Adam – The First Man
Adam received life when God breathed into him. He became a living soul, but he could not give life to anyone else. Through his sin, death passed to all men (Romans 5:12).
Christ is called the last Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45). He is not just living, He is life-giving. The word “quickening” means to make alive. Adam left us with death, but Christ gives eternal life to all who believe.
• Adam = Receiver of life, Natural, Death.
• Christ = Giver of life, Spiritual, Eternal life.
Adam shows us that without Christ we remain in death. But Christ came so that death would not have the final word. In Adam all die, but in Christ all shall be made alive (1 Corinthians 15:22). The choice is clear and it is urgent. You cannot stay neutral. Either you remain in Adam and face eternal death, or you step into Christ and receive eternal life.
The first Adam left us cursed, but the last Adam lifts the curse. The first Adam failed in a garden, but the last Adam conquered in a garden. The first Adam brought death by disobedience, but the last Adam brought life by obedience, even the death of the cross.
Every man is born in Adam, but by faith you can be born again in Christ. The question is not if you are in Adam, you already are. The question is, have you trusted Christ to live eternally?
