Paul’s change from Saul, a persecutor of Christians, to one of the greatest preachers of the gospel is a powerful story of God’s grace.
His transformation shows us how the message of salvation spreads. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” But how does this happen? In Romans 10:14-15, Paul gives us a simple guide to how the gospel reaches people. Let’s look at three key steps:
1. People Need to Hear the Gospel
Paul asks, “How shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?” (Romans 10:14b). No one can believe in Jesus if they haven’t heard about Him. Just like Paul needed someone to tell him about Christ, people today need to hear the gospel. This is why it’s so important for us to share the message of Jesus with others.
2. Someone Needs to Share the Gospel
“And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14c). The gospel needs messengers. This isn’t just for pastors; it’s for all of us. Each believer has a part in telling others about Jesus, whether it’s through preaching, teaching, or simply sharing our personal story.
3. We Are Sent to Share the Gospel
Paul reminds us that those who share the gospel are sent by God: “How shall they preach, except they be sent?” (Romans 10:15a). We have a mission to go into the world and tell others about Christ. Like Paul, we are called to step out and spread the good news wherever we go.
Paul’s transformation shows that anyone can be changed by the power of God. As believers, we are called to share this message so others can experience that same change. Let’s be ready to go and tell the world about Jesus, knowing we are sent by Him.
